The Manchester Academy is located in the University of Manchester Student Union building and includes 4 main concert halls. The Academy Room 1 hosts mainly rock and indie concerts while the other smaller rooms 2 and 3 are used for jazz and other more intimate events. Down in the basement is a nightclub effectionately known as ‘The Cellar’. The Academy opened its doors in 1990.
