Manchester Arena, built in 1995, is the largest indoor sporting and live music venue in Europe. Over the years some of most memorable events in the UK happened at the Manchester Arena. Artists such as U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Pavarotti and the record-breaking 2010/2011 residency by local comedian Peter Kay claim a spot on the arena’s history board. And then there are a few homegrown, local artists you might have heard of; Take That, Oasis, Elbow, New Order, James, Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, M People, Doves, Inspiral Carpets, The Verve, Simply Red and The Courteeners.
